aubrey is a man on everyones lips at the moment. after nearly 25 years of releasing music, the south coast techno pioneer has just completed a busy 2013, including a remix for juan atkins metroplex records and is pushing his own dot records to new heights. here, aubrey has followed up his earlier ferox releases abstractions and inner feelings with two super deep cuts on this techno jazz fuelled 4 -tracker. on remix duties are label boss russ gabriel and his rt-transmissions partner germanys hans thalau.

the 1994 metroplex classic by juan atkins aka infiniti remixed by orlando voorn, i-robots and santiago salazar.

i-robots is an alias of opilec music boss gianluca pandullo, a long time dj and producer with a penchant for classic techno and electro cosmic disco. for his next project in the esteemed i-robots reconstructions concept series the italian re-edits some classic material, all with the permission of the original artists. the tracks in question are derrick mays hugely influential *emanon* cut, recorded under his rhythim is rhythim alias and originally released in the 1990s on his own seminal transmat records label – one of the most important imprints in the early days of techno alongside kms and metroplex. the second track – which was first released on metroplex, the label juan atkins founded in 1985 and then re-released and reworked on sound vision - is *game one* produced by the legendary juan atkins and orlando voorn as infiniti. the latter of these pair has already released a number of times on the opilec music label.

keith tuckers optic nerve persona returns with the timelapse ep. side a1 minimal detroit mix is a dark minimal mood beat pumped excursion into techno floor stumper. a2 time displacement mix is a completely different take with alternative beats creating a sort of shift in time. the tracks show tuckers growth and influence on electro and techno with his work in aux 88. side two one moment in time is a detroit sort of metroplex gem. tucker once again shows his melodic melodies and baselines that shows his love for detroit music and grooves. a highly thought out sequence of great sounds and string chords as only optic nerve does it. tucker has hinted many times that he has a lot of unreleased music from his metroplex days! b2. transient force records label owner as1 gives us a true electro mix which keeps alot of the original mix of one moment in time. the tone is a more electro clash techno mesh of urban beat programming for the electro heads.

terrence dixon is the man behind sporadic production alias population one, serving up dark and heavy, intense and ravey records for classic labels like utensil only occasionally. as such, delsins re-issue arm (following on from dan curtin, mk and luke slater titles) has sought to get some of the old tracks out there once again on this double a side 10inch outing with midnight hours (first on detroit: beyond the third wave lp from 1996) and two sides to every story (from an ep of the same name on metroplex, also in 1996).

ben is a musician deeply involved on and behind the scene. after various enriching collaborations it is now time for him to introduce his very own projects. he recently remixed carl craigs innerzone orchestra project for planet e and will be releasing an ep on juan atkinss legendary label metroplex. bens releases are not to miss. they set the standard for many and the minibarians are proud to present his latest piece of art which will kick the dancefloor.

tresor records marks its 250th release with a very special project indeed. continuing to forge ahead whilst remaining ever mindful of its legacy, tresor proudly presents infiniti - the remixes: a trilogy of classic cuts and new reworks from one of its original detroit linchpins juan atkins. dubbed as his pure techno project, atkins produced two full-length albums under the infiniti moniker-the infiniti collection, released by tresor in 1996, and skynet two years later. 16 years on and they are as relevant today as they were pioneering then, brought further up-to-date here with a series of fresh takes from some of technos pioneering and esteemed figures: thomas fehlmann, tv victor, function, redshape, sleeparchive and the re-release of dubtechno vanguard moritz von oswalds remix of >think quick<, originally released in 94 on metroplex. part two picks up the pace, heading further down the timeline with >flash flood< - originally released in 1995 as part of one of the labels famous annual compilations, re-edited by sandwell districts function. skynets punchy classic on the flip, >skyway< rounds off the ep with a killer old-school remix by technos masked crusader redshape.

the cryovac recordings label is kept alive by the efforts of a. garcia. the name is taken from a dirty and cranky device used to seal shrink wrap around records. in this way, cryovac works to preserve the time and space around its artists identities. who they are is translated into tone and vibration, which is captured onto vinyl by garcia himself. cryovac remains creative and searching to maintain a personal sound. kimyon huggins (metroplex) is a painter, musician, thinker and a lover of life. he pulls together concepts that inspire, and informally applies them to his funky sound. this sound has been crafted from a wondering nature and a deep respect for history. kimyon huggins is one of a few that continually break the mold.

roberto bosco is a young italian producer with a short but highly impressive discography, citing labels such as samuel l. sessions klap klap, orlando voorns night vision and len fakis figure. lately, he has released on be as one, an israeli imprint thats attracted the tastes of loco dice, gui boratto, kate simko, agoria and gummihz. claudio mate has an unique kind of sound: there is something like classic atmospheres expressed into new spine-tingle grooves, a deep-cosmic-solid journey or more simply just the trip of his life story. claudio mate got the respect of such names like the godfather of techno music juan atkins (for him claudio remixed >game one< previously licensed on the legendary metroplex), orlando voorn, francois k, derrick may and manuel gottsching. the swedish techno heads like adam beyer, samuel l session, joel mull always supported him since the first projects. mate & bosco together are abstract souls, a new project set up to develop their deepest sound. >abstract souls ep< is their first release under their new moniker and contains 4 deep techno tracks, solid techno grooves infused with dark dubby atmospherics and cosmic influenced rhythms.

robert o dell is known from a couple of long deleted electro jams on the metroplex sub-label interface (produced with juan atkins) and an obscure split ep released on rephlex in 1998.. o dell is inspired by a lot of groups, from kraftwerk to duran duran and has been in different bands all of his life, collaborating with such luminaries as george clinton.. this six track lp fuses electrofunk and r&b with the dark energy of the techno sound he grew up with
